3G Pitch Construction and Hockey Pitch Construction
K Sports, a sport and entertainment centre based in Kent, appointed us to carry out the construction of a full-sized 3G pitch and an FIH accredited hockey pitch. The project spanned over two phases – one for each pitch. Both were built on what was originally natural playing fields used by the sports club for training.
As with any sports pitch construction, having a strong foundation is crucial. We completed all the enabling groundworks, deep drainage installation and sub-base formation before utilising the CLS Laser Grader to achieve a completely level base with tolerances within 3mm.
For the 3G pitch, a pre-fabricated shockpad was installed with great success, ahead of the synthetic turf installation. On completion, the pitch was independently tested and received FIFA 2* accreditation.
The hockey pitch was also independently tested and received an FIH accreditation.
Along with the pitch works, we installed perimeter fencing, floodlighting, macadam spectator areas and a new car park.
