Ground maintenance involves different tasks throughout the year with the ever changing weather. From cutting grass in early spring to clearing snow in the coldest months,  maintaining your external space deserves the best care.

Whether it is simple jobs like weed control or making sure that paths are gritted so that no one slips in icy conditions. Forward planning and booking in the different services you need is vital when it comes to securing  the right contractor to maintain your premises.

Spring

Spring offers a clean slate in grounds maintenance. The season starts off with the continuation of gritting footpaths as icy mornings still occur and have an effect on most surfaces. As the season progresses our attention would go onto weed control and grass cutting begins.

Summer

During the summer, a lot of work is carried on from spring and as the days get warmer more work will be be carried out around your external space. Pruning, grass cutting and hedge maintenance will all take place throughout the summer months. This time of year is when most plants are growing. This makes it perfect for checking the health of plants and planting seeds.

Autumn

As autumn creeps in, leaves start to fall off the trees and as such leaf collecting will start to keep areas clear and avoid any slips or falls on wet surfaces. Planting bulbs and cutting back plants ready for the winter cold is also a part of preparations needing to take place.

Winter

During winter it is time to prepare for gritting for those ice cold mornings when everything is frozen over or it snows. Snow clearing may also be essential in winter as footpaths and roads can become unusable when the snow lays. During the winter months it is important to stop any incidents before they happen as no one wants an injury.
