Play Area Construction
After a competitive tendering process, Scarborough Borough Council appointed the CLS Landscape and Earthworks team to construct a new innovative and engaging play area at Byland Road, Whitby.
This much needed facility replaced an original play area which was removed when new houses were built close by. The design for the play area was inspired by pupils from Stakesby School who gave their ideas on how the new park should look.
Both toddler and junior play equipment from manufacturers Kompan, Wickstead and Russell Leisure were installed along with bitmac surfacing, rubber grass matting and block paving.
Steel bow top boundary fencing, self-closing gates, a youth shelter, litter bins and picnic benches were also installed to create a family friendly environment.
