Sleights Sports Club Invest in Pitch Maintenance Equipment

Sleights Sports Club situated in the Esk Valley of North Yorkshire made a unanimous decision to make their cricket field multi-functional with a view to hosting football on the cricket outfield.

After numerous discussions with the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) Sleights Sports Club came to the conclusion that in order to achieve their goal they would have to invest in their pitch maintenance equipment. The club knew it was going to be tricky for the groundsmen to maintain the pitch with the additional wear and tear, so they contacted CLS Selfdrive for advice and they were happy to assist.

The CLS Selfdrive team have an abundance of knowledge and experience in many industries including sports pitch maintenance. This knowledge ensured the client felt confident that they would be provided with the equipment most suited to their requirements and budget. Peter Stanley, our machinery specialist found the most cost-effective equipment to do the challenging job without compromising on quality.

The club purchased a premium Iseki TLE3400 economy compact tractor, Sovema EM2 Finishing Mower with rear roller and a SCH Pitch Combi-Tool suitable for regular pitch maintenance and game preparation.  The Pitch Combi-tool, fitted with a star slitter keeps the surface open for increased surface drainage, the brush and rake skim over the surface to enhance the quality and appearance of the area and the rear roller firms up the surface and gives that much sought-after striping.  Individual screw jacks on the Combi-Tool will also allow them to set it up to suit their requirements.

We wish them every success for the future both on and off the pitch.
